Where’s the Money? Getting Scholarships in a Tough Economy
Detroit, MI -- Mar 22, 2010 --

Don’t think it is necessary to perform well on the ACT exam or get good grades. Education does pay. Ask Derrius Quarles, a foster child and ward of the state, who received 1.1 million dollars of scholarships in 2009. His video story can be found at www.upliftinc.org/Escape_to_College.html  Those scholarships are paying for his escape to college.  Derrius, now, attends Morehouse College. He has enough scholarships to attend 4 years of undergrad and 4 years of medical school FREE of charge. Derrius earned his million dollars with a 4.2 GPA and ACT score of 28.  His life is marked for success. All he has to do, now, is to maintain a high grade point average. He is being paid to attend school and make a better life for himself. Will you?

Where’s the Money? Getting Scholarships in a Tough Economy is co-sponsored by Ida Byrd-Hill, President of Uplift, Inc., a 501 (c)3 Idea Incubator and Alicia Nails, Director of Journalism  Institute For Media Diversity professional honors and scholarship program, a WSU learning community.
