BIOGRAPHYof IDA BYRD-HILL
Ida Byrd-Hill is the President of Uplift, Inc., a non-profit Idea Incubator creating ideas such as Hustle & TECHknow Preparatory High School, an award winning cyber high school and now this book, Breakin’ Out of Your Financial Funk! She is, often quoted by the local media for her advocacy activities of education and personal responsibility. Personal responsibility drives everything - financial productivity of companies, community reinvestment, and education.
Ida Byrd-Hill know this first hand as she escaped out of poverty from a HUD project in Flint, MI. Her beliefs landed her in successful places. In high school when most students worked a minimum wage job at the local fast food restaurant, she worked at the Library as a page. Her passion for books allowed her to earn 1 ½ times minimum wage and afforded her a college scholarship to the University of Michigan. She desired to graduate with $10,000 in cash. While the scholarship paid for tuition, room and board, she worked various jobs to achieve her goal. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics in 1989 with $10,000 in cash.
Every job she received earned double her counterparts. She served as a Human Resources Administrator for 5 years, an Executive Search Consultant placing executives for 3 and then a financial advisor and President of The Harvard Group Wealth Management LLC, a financial services firm. She managed The Harvard Group Wealth Management LLC for 10 years Little did, she know she would affect people’s lives and change them for the better. Her desire was to educate the world on how to increase their wealth via home equity, insurance and investments. She educated 2200 individual clients and 10 corporate clients.

Byrd-Hill is a speaker who can motivate people to move from their current rags to new riches; a speaker that pushes people to see life, their career, their company as conduits to greater success.
