Uplift, Inc. is a 501(c)3 idea incubator that began November 1997 with the creation of its signature program, Family Fun Nights.
President
Ida Byrd-Hill was President of The Harvard Group Wealth Management, LLC., for 10 years. She provided advice and implementation of financial planning, insurance, investment and mortgages. She served 3 years as a Mortgage Loan Officer for Republic Bancorp Mortgage. Prior to that, she served 5 years in Human Resources with her final stint as Vice President of F-O-R-T-U-N-E Personnel Consultants of Detroit, an attorney search firm. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Economics/ Finance from the University of Michigan. She has completed the Fundamentals of General Contracting program sponsored by the Michigan State Housing and Development Authority (MSHDA). She has been active in the community as the Belle Isle Womens Committee, Corresponding Secretary , Duke Ellington Conservatory of Music and Art Parent Group, President of Hanstein Elementary School Parent Group, Museum of African American History Women’s Committee, Junior Achievement, Parade Company and Leadership Detroit XX.
Vice President
Kingsley Amadi is a Network Competency Principal at IBM working with clients to drive services and engagement sales. He has designed, reconfigured and implemented changes at Fortune 100 R&D data centers world wide. He has a MBA in Technology Management from University of Phoenix, a Bachelor's in Computer Technology Eastern Michigan University. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional and Certified Net Analyst.
Treasurer
Andrew Collins is President of Tapeko Construction. He is retired from IBM Global Services as a Principal Consultant. During this period, he led the design effort that resulted in several successful multi-million dollar services contracts for IBM in the retail, banking, health, and manufacturing industries. He currently specializes in network design and implementation, high availability services, systems administration and programming services and proposal and contract development. Mr. Collins has received many awards for his marketing excellence and technical skills. He has been recognized as a National Product Specialist in CICS and IMS/Data Base and has been a presenter at many IBM internal technical conferences. Mr. Collins received his B.S. Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan.
